Arthur Yancey
Region III represents emergency medical services for a combined 8 counties of the metropolitan Atlanta area. Dr. Yancey was named EMS Medical Director of the Year! Also Grady EMS and its distinguished personnel received the Excellence in Trauma Care Award, the Dennis Lockridge EMS Pioneer Award, and the EMS Service of the Year Award! A remarkable accomplishment! In addition, the CARES (Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival) awards, an award conceived of by our very own Bryan McNally and co-endorsed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Heart Association and Emory University, were awarded to paramedics and EMTs in our region who participated this last year in a successful out-of-hospital cardiac arrest resuscitation. All of these sudden cardiac death victims were true saves, discharged from hospital to their family and friends. A remarkable 696 paramedics and EMTs from 13 EMS services were recognized!
Congratulations to all for great service to the community and for a job well done!
